Job summary

Siemens in Wendell, NC is hiring a Mechanical Assembler Level I for the GIS Production Team on the 3rd shift to build Low and Medium Voltage Electrical Distribution Equipment, such as Switchgears, Switchboards and Breakers, following assemblies drawn in BOMs and layouts. You will train on the 1st shift at manager’s discretion, then move to the 3rd shift.

The pay is $19.00 per hour plus $1.50 shift differential.

Qualifications

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to occasionally lift parts or sub-assemblies weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Basic proficiency in English (read, write, and communicate verbally).

Responsibilities

• Assemble, sub-assemblies, parts kits, and aftermarket parts orders, including mechanical assembly of steel components.
• Record job transactions, read BOMs, follow layouts and assembly drawings.
• Learn proper use of torque wrenches and apply specified torque values.
• Develop ability to identify common mechanical parts and basic electrical components.
• Adhere to Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety policies and be a strong team player.
