Job summary

Judd Wire Inc. in Turners Falls, MA is hiring a Material Handler for the 3rd shift to support wire and cable preparation for shipping. You will work from movement docs, operate a fork truck, and ensure accurate transfer of product while maintaining reels and pallets.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, 1–3 months transferrable experience, and familiarity with measuring instruments. PIV training is provided after hire, with safety and quality at the core of daily duties.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1-3 month’s transferrable experience.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Be a team player, enjoy detailed work and willing to learn.
• Knowledge of arithmetic including decimals, fractions, and simple use of specifications together with use of adjustable measuring instruments.
• PIV Training and certification will be completed after hire.

Responsibilities

• Work from material movement documents, written and verbal instructions, and computer scanning device, records and forms.
• Transfer wire from one location to another as instructed by movement documents and/or written or verbal instructions either manually or fork truck.
• Ensure proper transfer of product.
• Maintain reels and pallets as needed for assigned operations.
• Weigh and record scrap as required.
• Detect and report defective materials, malfunctioning equipment, unusual conditions to supervision.
• Observe all safety rules and regulations. Maintain equipment and work areas in clean and orderly condition.
