Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is hiring for a 3rd shift forklift operator in Gaffney, SC. You will ensure machines are serviced, manage material and color changes on molding presses, and support daily priorities on the floor.

Responsibilities include timely transport of finished goods, scrap management, and collaboration with shift supervisors on kanban boards. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and strong attendance required.

Qualifications

• 2 yrs minimum Forklift experience required.
• Must obtain Cornerstone Building Brands certified forklift license.
• Past history of exceptional attendance and work habits including self-motivation.
• Must have good communication skills and must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time.
• Must have machine operator experience.
• Must be able to operate all the molding machines in the department.
• High level of leadership, good organization skills, judgment, and ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical demands: frequently lift/move up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Must read, write, and perform basic math calculations.
• Must perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Responsibilities

• Ensure machines/operators are serviced as the “internal customer”.
• Communicate directly to manage time and organize the work area.
• Manage movement of products and changing priorities to satisfy customer demands.
• Follow safety, departmental, and company procedures.
• Transport finished goods skids to appropriate area in a timely fashion.
• Change scrap gaylords as needed.
• Provide materials to presses (resin, cardboard, skids, etc.).
• Collaborate with shift supervisors on kanban boards and priority shifts.
• Report safety violations to the supervisor promptly.
• Promote 5S housekeeping in the area.
• Operate presses to assist breaks when necessary.
• Coordinate with department supervisor and team leader on daily priorities and support.
