Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Winston-Salem, NC is hiring a Material Handler for the 3rd shift. The role involves safe operation of MHE, unloading inbound materials, stocking warehouses, and supporting production lines.

Starting rate is $21.54 per hour with benefits including health and retirement plans; overtime is required. A forklift certification is preferred, and English fluency is required.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift certification is preferred or must be obtained on hire.
• Experience as a warehouse clerk is preferred and beneficial.
• English fluency is required, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Operate electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and stand-up reach trucks safely.
• Unload inbound materials and stock, supply production lines, and load outbound shipments.
• Inspect trailers and ensure proper unitization and labeling of materials.
• Accurately count and describe materials handled and complete movement paperwork.
• Maintain inventory and perform daily cycle counts.
• Support other areas as needed and back up the Warehouse Clerk when required.
• Comply with safety policies and keep equipment and work areas clean.
