Job summary

Vicor Corporation, an American manufacturer of advanced 48V centric DC-DC converters in Andover, MA, seeks a skilled maintenance technician for a 3rd shift role (Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM) to maintain VI Chip production equipment and support manufacturing activities.

The candidate will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, train operators, and collaborate with engineering to improve setups, troubleshoot issues, and optimize processes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate degree in electro-mechanical or electronic engineering or equivalent.
• Self-motivated, hands-on technician capable of team collaboration.
• Must show urgency with minimal supervision.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience supporting production line equipment and systems (SMT pick and place, AOI, reflow ovens, glue dispense, waterjet, laser maker, PCB saw, molding machines).
• Knowledge of equipment such as Genesis platform, Disco saw, Fico molding system, BTU reflow oven, Axion platform, Delta handler, Rofin laser, Stalhi lapping system, Siemens.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on VI Chip production equipment to meet production schedules and ensure optimum operation.
• Provide continuous technical support to production operators.
• Maintain and purchase spare parts and inventories; determine inventory levels and verify receipt.
• Prepare maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Improve, debug and optimize setups and changeovers; maximize equipment capacity utilization.
• Develop and improve equipment maintenance documentation.
• Support manufacturing and test engineering; conduct tests to qualify new equipment/processes and verify existing ones.
• Train and evaluate operators on process and equipment knowledge.
