We are seeking Maintenance Technicians on 3rd Shift up to $38/hr to start! The ideal technician will perform routine and preventive maintenance to install, maintain, and disassemble machines, machinery parts, and mechanical equipment.
RM Palmer Company, LLC designs, produces, packages, and ships seasonal chocolate novelties. Our products include filled chocolates, solid chocolates, chocolate bars and balls, chocolate cups and coins, chocolate patties, and seasonal products. In addition to their own branded products, the Company co-manufactures both seasonal and everyday products for other large branded companies. Today, the Company operates out of two manufacturing facilities and one distribution facility with approximately 600 full-time employees. R.M. Palmer Company, LLC has some of the most differentiated manufacturing capabilities in the industry as one of the only companies in the U.S. able to make hollow molded chocolate candy products and multicolor chocolate candy novelties.
Maintenance Technician Details:

Maintenance Technician Duties:
- Utilize knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronics systems to repair and maintain sitewide electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical equipment and processes, including troubleshooting problems when operators report issues with their equipment.
- Respond to production needs and troubleshoot machines and machine/line control systems, perform repairs and preventative maintenance on production and non-production equipment. Provide timely follow-up communication on repairs to production and maintenance supervision.
- Complete all daily, preventative, and predictive maintenance activities as assigned, focusing on food safety and reducing equipment failures.
- Contribute to improving and updating all PM procedures.
- Prioritize maintenance jobs, analyze downtime, and suggest improvements to enhance plant operations.
- Operate standard maintenance tools such as power tools, hand tools, electric tools, and precision maintenance tools.
- Work with various maintenance trades and components, including electrical, welding, pipefitting, fabrication, gearbox and bearing maintenance, lubrication, pumps and piping systems, hydraulic, pneumatic, and combustion systems.
- Read and understand electrical/mechanical schematics, blueprints, and operation manuals to troubleshoot, modify, and install equipment.
- Document all work and conditions using maintenance software as necessary.
- Collaborate with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement and foster teamwork.
- Operate forklifts, loaders, scissor lifts, aerial lifts, and other mobile equipment.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Prior education or experience with electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair.
- 2-year technical degree or Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or equivalent experience.
- 2–3 years as a maintenance technician or similar role, preferably in manufacturing, industrial, or commercial settings.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems effectively and perform repairs efficiently.
- Proficient in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience with CMMS systems is a plus.
- Food manufacturing experience is preferred.
