Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Dayton, NJ seeks a Maintenance Mechanic for 3rd shift. Pay starts at $35.39/hr, rising to $40.31/hr based on role, level and location.

The role troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment and requires PLC programming and safety compliance. You will install, start up, and shut down equipment per safety procedures and OSHA; train other staff; perform preventive maintenance; and maintain performance records.

Qualifications

• Certified through a tech or trade school beyond high school.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to work safely with equipment.
• Proven experience in electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment.
• Plans and performs work with knowledge of electrical codes and materials.
• Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment per safety procedures and OSHA rules.
• Advises operators and maintenance staff on safe operation.
• Maintains maintenance records and performs preventive maintenance.
• Trains other maintenance personnel and assists team during outages.
