Job summary

Caterpillar in Brooklyn Park, MN seeks a 3rd Shift Logistics Production Manager to lead a team delivering parts with a focus on PQVC performance. You will drive safety, efficiency and quality on the shop floor and coordinate with production management to optimize workload and materials.

The role requires leadership in operations, a strong focus on safety, and experience with continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Lean and CQMS/ISO.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in an operations environment.
• Formal (direct or indirect) leadership experience in an operations or military environment.
• Team-oriented with a strong focus on safety.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve safety on the shop floor; eliminate unsafe operations and maintain a clean product environment.
• Determine processing needs to provide fixtures, tooling and methods to meet schedules and production requirements.
• Daily tie-in with production management to designate workload, priorities and sequence for work assigned.
• Ensure necessary parts and materials are ordered and distributed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Implement various corporate initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, 6Sigma, CQMS / ISO.
