Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking an Operations Supervisor for the 3rd shift (Mon-Fri, 11:00pm–7:30am) to lead local staff, assign coverage, and oversee sub-haulers, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries.

You will use our tools to meet service levels and escalate issues as needed. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in transportation or logistics, a related Bachelor’s degree, and strong leadership with the ability to coach and influence employees.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in transportation or logistics.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Solid leadership and creative thinking with the ability to supervise, coach and influence employees.

Responsibilities

• Provide elevated support to the dispatcher, ensuring customer requirements are met.
• Make appointments for pickup and delivery.
• Track empty container availability and ensure container is picked up in a timely manner.
• Provide escalated customer support as needed.
• Forward PODs on various web-billed accounts.
• Track container releases from the pier/rail to prevent demurrage costs.
• Develop and mentor staff to reach goals; train staff on company policies and procedures.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, disciplining and resolving issues.
