Job summary

Parker Hannifin – Parflex Division in Manitowoc, WI is seeking a salaried 3rd shift Supervisor to lead a small production team of hose production operators. You will apply Lean manufacturing and daily operational leadership across value streams, partnering with the Plant Manager to ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities include coaching, daily planning, and cross-training; fostering a culture of continuous improvement, 5S, and right-first-time quality, with limited travel.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field with manufacturing experience.
• Proven leadership experience managing production teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to lead and influence teams to achieve operational and continuous improvement goals.
• Preferred: Lean manufacturing principles experience and leading Lean teams.
• Solid understanding of accounting, inventory control, and production planning systems.

Responsibilities

• Foster a culture of safety, quality, and employee empowerment by enforcing standardized work, 5S principles, and compliance with safety regulations.
• Lead and oversee daily production operations across assigned value stream(s), including coordination between shifts and collaboration with supply chain and production control teams.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools and methodologies (e.g., PDCA cycles, pull systems, leveling workloads) to reduce costs, lead times, and inventory.
• Develop, coach, and mentor Team Members and their Leads to build a qualified, engaged, and high-performing team.
• Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss challenges, share solutions, and promote open communication.
• Utilize visual management tools such as Tracking Centers and Team Improvement Boards to monitor performance and ensure transparency.
• Support the Plant Manager in budget preparation, adherence, and strategic planning for continuous operational improvements.
• Ensure cross-training of Team Members to maintain operational flexibility and uninterrupted workflow.
• Promote a positive work environment that encourages innovation, accountability, and "right-first time" quality standards.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
• Minimal travel as needed.
