Job summary

Parker Hannifin – Parflex Division in Manitowoc, WI is seeking a salaried 3rd shift Supervisor to lead a small production team of hose production operators. You will apply Lean manufacturing and daily operational leadership across value streams, partnering with the Plant Manager to ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities include coaching, daily planning, and cross-training; fostering a culture of continuous improvement, 5S, and right-first-time quality, with limited travel.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field with manufacturing experience.
• Proven leadership experience managing production teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to lead and influence teams to achieve operational and continuous improvement goals.
• Preferred: Lean manufacturing principles experience and leading Lean teams.
• Solid understanding of accounting, inventory control, and production planning systems.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools and methodologies (e.g., PDCA cycles, pull systems, leveling workloads) to reduce costs, lead times, and inventory.
• Develop, coach, and mentor Team Members and their Leads to build a qualified, engaged, and high-performing team.
• Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss challenges, share solutions, and promote open communication.
• Utilize visual management tools such as Tracking Centers and Team Improvement Boards to monitor performance and ensure transparency.
• Support the Plant Manager in budget preparation, adherence, and strategic planning for continuous operational improvements.
• Ensure cross-training of Team Members to maintain operational flexibility and uninterrupted workflow.
• Promote a positive work environment that encourages innovation, accountability, and "right-first time" quality standards.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
• Minimal travel as needed.

Position Summary

Our 3rd shift is seeking a Supervisor to lead a small dynamic team of hose production operators. As a salaried supervisor, (Value Stream Team Leader), you will lead hourly Team Members in daily operations and continuous improvement efforts within one or more manufacturing value streams. Partnering closely with the Plant Manager, you will implement Lean manufacturing principles to ensure a safe, efficient, and high-quality production environment. Your leadership will be vital in developing a skilled workforce, optimizing processes, and achieving daily operational goals that align with our strategic priorities. 3rd shift hours are Sunday night through Thursday night.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-5 years of supervisory or management experience in manufacturing.

• Demonstrated ability to build teamwork, assess skills, and develop employees.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and fostering a continuous improvement culture.
• Currently possess CPR/First Aid/AED certification, or willing to become certified.

Physical Requirements

• Standing: Ability to stand for 8+ hours during a shift.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ability to wear required PPE such as safety shoes, eye protection (glasses/goggles), hearing protection, safety vests, and gloves.
• Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of hands for tasks such as using safety scissors, bending tubing, taping tube, and connecting hose assemblies.
• Sorting: Ability to sort items by size, shape, and color.
• Physical Movements: Includes pushing, pulling, kneeling, and squatting as part of daily duties.
• Lifting: Ability to lift up to 45 pounds safely.
• Sensory Requirements: Must have the ability to perceive color accurately and hear plant paging, alarms, and other important auditory signals.
