Qualifications

• Experience in thermoplastic injection molding set-up and processing.
• Thorough understanding of molding machine principles and functions.
• Plastic resins and their various processing differences.
• Troubleshooting of molding process and resin capabilities.
• Basic mold design and function.
• Some knowledge of tooling fundamental skills, working knowledge of process controllers, heat history of material flow (rheology).
• Computer skills using word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Sets and starts existing processes and resolves processing issues.
• Qualifies molds and prototypes until production ready.
• Evaluate molds and processes, recommend changes for production improvements.
• Develop and document production process information (specs, cycles, equipment, packaging, secondary operations).
• Troubleshoot molding equipment and implement changes with support departments.
• Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in pre-design, design reviews, and pre-production meetings.
• Maintain shift logs and oversee daily activities of cell leads and technicians.
