Job summary

ImageTek in Vermont seeks an Injection Molding Technician (3rd shift) to support injecting molding operations. You will perform machine setup assistance, monitor production, troubleshoot equipment, and conduct preventive maintenance, following 5S and Lean practices.

The role requires a technical background, ability to read manuals and drawings, and strong problem‑solving skills to minimize downtime and ensure quality parts. Overtime and weekend work may be required to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in injection molding, manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or a similar production environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot machinery and equipment.
• Basic understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical controls, and mechanical systems.
• Experience using hand and power tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain injection molding machines to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and auxiliary equipment issues to minimize downtime.
• Perform machine startups, shutdowns, and process verification following established procedures.
• Assist with mold changes, machine setups, and equipment adjustments.
• Install, connect, and verify auxiliary equipment including dryers, temperature controllers, conveyors, robots, and material handling systems.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on molding machines, molds, and support equipment.
• Identify equipment wear, mechanical issues, or process abnormalities and recommend corrective actions.
• Work with production operators to resolve quality concerns and improve efficiency.
• Inspect molded parts to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
• Record process parameters, maintenance activities, downtime, and corrective actions.
• Assist in optimizing cycle times, reducing scrap, and improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.
