Pliant Plastics Corporation is seeking a technically skilled professional to support injection molding tooling and process development on our production floor. You will help design, validate, and optimize molding processes, establish machine settings, monitor process performance, and train technicians to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of injection mold design principles.
• Basic knowledge of automation, robotics, and secondary operations in molding.
• Understanding of flow, molding parameters, and resins used in molding.
• Ability to perform basic math related to mold design and processing.
• Familiarity with statistical process control concepts.
• Experience with sampling, data recording, and reporting.
• Ability to establish machine settings and monitor process variables.
• Capability to train operators and support technicians on processing parameters.

Responsibilities

• Develop key molding process parameters for existing and new products and tooling.
• Identify and resolve issues during tool maturation and process validation.
• Establish initial IMM settings to achieve key processing parameters.
• Set up process monitor points and tolerances for defect detection and equipment protection.
• Document processing parameters and data for molds and processes.
• Train molders and technicians to measure and apply processing parameters.
• Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing issues.
• Assist with new mold sampling to meet urgent customer needs.
• Mentor the mold setup team to promote knowledge and growth.
• Ensure compliance with environmental policy and drive continuous improvement.
