Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a 2nd/3rd Shift Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician for a climate-controlled food manufacturing plant in Toledo, OH. The role focuses on preventive maintenance and efficient response to production needs, with emphasis on mechanical work and refrigeration systems, including ammonia equipment.

You'll work on 480V motors, welding stainless steel, reading schematics, and collaborating with a unionized team to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with roughly 70% mechanical work and 30% electrical.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration equipment (chillers/freezers).
• Safely swap out 480V three-phase motors.
• Perform LO TO and diagnose minor electrical issues up to 480V.
• Welding on stainless steel components (MIG/STICK).
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings for repairs.
• Own a complete set of personal maintenance tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance calls on production and facility equipment promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance to increase coverage and reliability.
• Repair mechanical systems (pumps, conveyors, motors) and refrigeration equipment.
• Troubleshoot pneumatics, hydraulics, sensors, valves, and bearings.
• Replace 480V motors following lockout/tagout procedures.
• Conduct electrical troubleshooting up to 480V and fix issues.
• Weld as needed for repairs and fabrication on stainless steel parts.
• Read blueprints and electrical schematics to guide repairs and installations.
• Document maintenance activities and communicate status to stakeholders.
• Maintain safety standards and use appropriate PPE and LOTO practices.
