McGill Environmental Systems is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Morrisville, PA facility. The role involves safely operating wheel loaders, excavators, telehandlers, and related machinery to transform organic waste into compost and soil products.

The 3rd shift runs Monday–Friday, 11:30 PM–7:30 AM, with occasional Saturdays and overtime. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, HSA, 401(k), PTO, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment in industrial settings.
• Ability to perform daily inspections and safety checks.

Responsibilities

• Operate Hyundai HL960A and HL970A Wheel Loaders, Front-End Loaders, Small Excavators, Skid Steers, Telehandlers, Backhoes, Grinders, Screeners, and other heavy equipment.
• Load trucks and transport materials within the facility.
• Perform blending and material processing operations.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and safety checks.
• Identify and report maintenance needs or equipment issues.
• Support production goals while maintaining quality standards.
• Follow safety procedures, environmental regulations, and PPE requirements.
• Participate in safety meetings and training.

Position Overview

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you'll play a vital role in transforming organic waste into high-quality compost, mulch, and soil products that support healthier communities and a cleaner environment.

You will safely operate heavy equipment used to move, process, blend, screen, and transport organic materials while maintaining production, quality, and safety standards. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in operating equipment efficiently and contributing to a productive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate Hyundai HL960A and Hyundai HL970A Wheel Loaders, Front-End Loaders, Small Excavators, Skid Steers, Telehandlers, Backhoes, Grinders, Screeners, and other heavy equipment
• Load trucks and transport materials throughout the facility

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Experience operating wheel loaders, front-end loaders, skid steers, excavators, telehandlers, backhoes, or similar heavy equipment
• Experience in composting, recycling, construction, landscaping, agriculture, manufacturing, mining, or industrial environments preferred
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced production environment
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to work around dust, dirt, mud, noise, odors, and moving equipment
• Strong commitment to workplace safety
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Reliable transportation to and from the Morrisville facility

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work on uneven terrain

Ability to climb on and off heavy equipment throughout the shift

Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance

Ability to wear required PPE, including respiratory protection when required
