Job summary

De Pere Shipping Container is hiring General Laborers for flexible shifts, either rotating 1st/2nd or straight 3rd shift. Responsibilities include operating, monitoring, and supporting packaging line tasks with emphasis on accuracy and safety.

You will report time and material usage, set up machines, manage inventories, and assist the crew with setup and cleanup. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities accompany the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous manufacturing experience is a plus but not required.
• Good human relations skills and strong verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Report time, production, and material usage accurately.
• Set up machines and prepare materials; retrieve paper from storage.
• Enter production run information into a computer (job information, measurements, etc.).
• Report irregularities, maintenance needs and quality problems to staff.
• Assist crew in running, changing over, starting up and cleaning the machine.
• Check raw materials and corrugated paper inventory to ensure no shortages.
• Use measuring tools to verify dimensions on corrugated board and ensure quality.
• Troubleshoot machine issues and suggest process improvements; keep area clean and orderly.
• Perform other tasks and projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

We offer two different schedule options for our General Laborers. YOU choose the schedule that works for your lifestyle.

• Weekly rotating shift between 1st and 2nd (1st: 6am - 2pm, 2nd: 2pm - 10pm)

or

• Straight 3rd shift (3rd: 10pm - 6am)

The following lists the job tasks and responsibilities that the General Laborer may be performing:

• Responsible for correct reporting of time, production, and material usage.
• Set up of the machine including preparing materials and retrieving paper from storage.
• Using a computer, enter information relating to the production run including job information, measurements etc.
• Reports irregularities, maintenance needs and quality problems to necessary staff
• Assists crew in running, changing over, starting up and cleaning the machine
• Checks raw materials and corrugated paper inventory to what is needed for each production run to ensure shortages are prevented
• Accurately use measuring tools to verify dimensions on corrugated board to ensure a quality product
• Troubleshoots machine issues and make recommendations on improving the processKeeps work area clean and orderly
• Other job tasks and projects as assigned

We are also looking for General Laborers who are self-motivated individuals willing to work safely in a team-based system. They need to have the ability to schedule their work, prioritize their workload, and complete tasks in a timely manner. A desire for continuous improvement and quality workmanship are required to meet our customers increasing demands

Compensation and Benefits

As a General Laborer, you'll start out making $23.40 per hour on day one with room to grow. You will have access to our two health and wellness clinics.
