Job summary

M.C. Dean in the Washington, DC area is seeking a Shift Lead to provide management and oversight of facility operations during the 3rd shift (10:00pm–8:30am). You will supervise technicians, ensure safe, reliable building systems, and coordinate with the Building Operations Center.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years in facilities maintenance, citizenship with clearance eligibility, strong problem‑solving and communication skills, and the ability to read and interpret technical documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 12+ years facilities maintenance experience.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain security clearance (HSPD-12 & Secret preferred).
• Experience operating central utility plants and complex facilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct managerial leadership for shift personnel and assignments.
• Lead daily facility operations and maintenance to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Prioritize and monitor technician activities based on safety and workload.
• Maintain accountability for shift performance and issue resolution.
• Conduct facility inspections and monitor system conditions.
• Maintain shift reports and CMMS records.
• Enforce safety requirements (LOTO, PPE, ORM).
