Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA INC. seeks an Electrical Test Technician for 3rd shift to validate transformer, switchgear, and power system components.

You will run tests, interpret schematics, and troubleshoot issues with advanced equipment, contributing to product quality and reliability. The role requires an Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent, with 2–4 years of electrical testing experience in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent practical experience in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.
• 2–4 years of electrical testing experience, preferably in manufacturing for power distribution equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Experience with testing equipment: multimeters, oscilloscopes, hipot testers, power quality analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Execute electrical tests on transformers, switchgear, and power system components according to procedures and safety standards.
• Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications to support testing and troubleshooting.
• Operate and maintain electrical testing equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, hipot testers, and power analyzers.
• Analyze and document test results with accurate recording of findings and deviations.
• Investigate test failures via root cause analysis and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to implement corrective actions.
• Calibrate and verify testing equipment to ensure measurement accuracy and compliance.
