Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is seeking an Electrical Test Technician for the 3rd shift to validate the performance and reliability of transformers, switchgear, and other power system components.

You will conduct tests, interpret schematics, and troubleshoot issues in a collaborative manufacturing setting. You will operate advanced testing equipment, document results, and participate in corrective actions with an emphasis on safety and quality, contributing to continuous improvement and product

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent practical experience in electrical engineering technology.
• 2–4 years of electrical testing experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints and drawings.
• Experience with testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, hipot testers and power analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Execute electrical tests on transformers, switchgear, and power system components according to procedures and safety standards.
• Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints and specifications to support testing and troubleshooting.
• Operate and maintain electrical testing equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, hipot testers and power analyzers.
• Analyze and document test results with accurate recording of findings and deviations.
• Investigate test failures through root cause analysis and coordinate with engineering/manufacturing for corrective actions.
• Calibrate and verify testing equipment to ensure measurement accuracy and compliance.
• Support quality objectives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment and communicate test status clearly.
