Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Mount Pleasant, PA, seeks an Electrical Test Technician for 3rd shift to validate performance and safety of transformers, switchgear, and power components. You will operate test equipment, read schematics, and document results, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to drive quality improvements.

This role requires 2–4 years in electrical testing, strong problem-solving, and the ability to work independently on a night shift in a collaborative manufacturing

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–4 years of experience in electrical testing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of electrical principles, circuits, and power system components.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Experience with electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, hipot testers, and power quality analyzers.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently during a 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

• Execute electrical tests on transformers, switchgear, and other power system components per procedures and safety standards.
• Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications to support testing and troubleshooting.
• Operate and maintain electrical testing equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, hipot testers, and power analyzers.
• Analyze and document test results with accurate findings and identify performance deviations.
• Investigate test failures via root cause analysis and work with engineering/manufacturing on corrective actions.
• Calibrate and verify testing equipment to ensure measurement accuracy and compliance.
• Support quality objectives by maintaining testing standards and driving continuous improvement.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized work environment and communicate test status to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
