Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Technician to maintain diesel equipment, perform inspections and preventive maintenance, and repair vehicles to keep safety and service levels high.

This role covers 3rd shift Sunday-Thursday 8:00pm–6:00am, requires a High School Diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, and at least 1 year of inspection/troubleshooting experience; pre-employment drug screen is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year experience inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing trucks and stationary equipment.
• Valid Class A, B, or C Driver’s license and legal work authorization in the United States.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; pre-employment drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks based on inspections in a timely manner or as directed by maintenance manager.
• Maintain diesel equipment operation through inspections and preventive maintenance; correct deficiencies as needed.
• Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them promptly; test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions when necessary.
• Perform lockout/tagout procedures and run diagnostic tests with computer diagnostic equipment.
• Build, rebuild, and replace hydraulic components and hoses; ensure reliability and safety of equipment.
