Job summary

The Michigan Milk Producers Association is seeking a 3rd shift Production Supervisor at our Ovid, MI facility to lead a dairy production team, ensure safety, quality and compliance, and develop talent within the operation.

This role focuses on planning, organizing, coaching, and driving continuous improvement while maintaining strong cross-functional collaboration to meet production goals and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, food production, dairy processing, or a related industry preferred.
• Strong leadership experience managing teams in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production operations to meet safety, quality, productivity, and customer requirements.
• Plan and organize personnel, materials, equipment, and production schedules to maximize efficiency.
• Coach, develop, and hold employees accountable to performance expectations and plant standards.
• Ensure effective shift-to-shift communication and smooth operational transitions.
• Promote and maintain compliance with food safety, SQF, FSMA, GMP, and workplace safety programs.
• Monitor production processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction.
• Coordinate staffing, workflow adjustments, and operational priorities to meet business demands.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, engagement, and professional growth.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve issues and improve overall plant performance.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and uphold company policies and procedures.
• Serve as a hands-on leader who supports operational success while developing future talent.
