Job summary

Ferrara is hiring a Machine Operator for a 3rd shift (11:00pm–7:00am) in Itasca, IL. The role involves operating and monitoring confectionery production equipment, ensuring product quality, and maintaining sanitary work areas. Overtime, weekend work, and shift differential are required to meet peak demand.

Strong attention to safety and teamwork are essential. Responsibilities include gear changes, quality checks, and adhering to GMP standards on a fast-paced line.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1 year of food manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor equipment to ensure product quality and production efficiency.
• Perform periodic quality checks and adjust controls as needed.
• Load raw materials into machines according to recipe and weight specifications.
• Maintain hygiene and sanitary conditions and prevent cross-contamination.
• Inform supervisor of problems related to quality, safety or equipment performance.
• Conduct changeovers and support line speed requirements.
