Job summary

Oatey Company seeks a skilled CNC Operator to fabricate metal components at our Shakopee, MN facility. You will run CNC machines, operate band saws and drill presses, and perform precision machining per blueprints and work orders.

The role requires blueprint comprehension, inspection proficiency (calipers, micrometers), and experience with CNC controllers. You will contribute to a high-performance team, ensure quality, and maintain documentation for lean manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Reads and understands blueprints.
• Proficient in part inspection using calipers, bore gauges, thread gauges, and micrometers.
• Familiarity with CNC controllers.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills.
• Team player with good written and spoken communication.
• Basic math, reading, and writing; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

Fabricate metal components by manual machining and operating CNC machines.

Position Responsibilities

• Run multiple CNC machines simultaneously, efficiently running parts through the equipment.
• Operate band saws, drill presses, and other manual machining equipment.
• Perform machining operations for milling, boring, grinding, lathe.
• Create product based on work orders and drawings.
• Use wide range of precision measuring instruments to maintain a close tolerance.
• Complete reports, issue material to work order as required, file prints.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience

• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Proficient in part inspection, including use of calipers, bore gauges, thread gauges, and micrometers.
• Familiarity with CNC controllers
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Team player.
• Communication skills (written and oral).
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of ISO9001 and LEAN
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Fast learner. Able to pick up new processes quickly.

Education and Certification

• CNC Operator Certificate or Equivalent Experience

Compensation Range for the Position:

$18.64 - $24.24 - $29.83 USD

Offer amount determined by experience and review of internal talent.
