Job summary

Kitware is seeking a PhD-level researcher to advance 3D vision algorithms for photogrammetry, calibration, registration, and reconstruction from images and video. You will contribute to TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield, collaborating with researchers and presenting findings to customers and collaborators.

Ideal candidates have a strong publication record in CVPR/ICCV/ECCV, experience with multiview geometry and AI/ML for 3D imaging, and a proven ability to solve difficult technical

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with multiview geometry to develop algorithms for 3D point clouds, meshes, Gaussian Splats, or NeRFs from imagery/video.
• Experience with AI/ML methods for 3D reconstruction or camera calibration.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python with good software development practices.
• Strong publication record in top-tier venues like CVPR, ICCV, ECCV.
• Innovative approach and track record solving challenging imagery-based problems.
• Experience collaborating in fast-paced, dynamic work environments.
• Due to contractual restrictions, only US Citizens will be considered.
• Willingness to apply for and maintain TS/SCI clearance if required.
• Candidates should include a detailed list of publications in their resume/CV.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and develop solutions involving camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from images.
• Contribute to open source software such as TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield.
• Collaborate with researchers to develop ideas and peer-review work.
• Prepare and present research findings to customers and collaborators.
• Seek opportunities to present at national and international conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, WACV, 3DV).
• Seek funding to grow and develop your own research areas, if desired.
