Job summary

Kitware is advancing 3D vision research from algorithms to open source applications. In this role you will develop and research calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from imagery, contributing to TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield.

You will collaborate with researchers, present findings to customers, and engage in conferences such as CVPR/ICCV/ECCV. This work supports national security challenges and may require US citizenship with TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with multiview geometry to build 3D point clouds, meshes, Gaussian splats, or NeRFs from imagery/video.
• Experience with AI/ML methods for 3D reconstruction or camera calibration.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python; good software development practices.
• Strong publication record in top-tier venues such as CVPR/ICCV/ECCV.
• Innovative approach with a track record of solving difficult technical challenges using imagery.
• Collaborative experience in fast-paced environments; US citizens only with TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and develop solutions involving camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from images.
• Contribute to open source software such as TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield.
• Collaborate with other researchers to develop ideas and peer‑review work.
• Prepare and present research findings to customers and collaborators.
• Receive support to participate in conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, WACV, and 3DV.
• Seek funding to grow and develop your own research areas, if desired.
