Job summary

Formlabs is seeking a Hardware Systems Integration Intern for Summer 2027 in Somerville, MA, onsite. You will join a cross-disciplinary team to enhance 3D printer reliability, integrate new features, and validate design changes.

You should have hands-on experience with mechanical or electro-mechanical systems and be comfortable scripting in Python. A strong portfolio and ambition to learn are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Portfolio of engineering work/projects required.
• Currently pursuing relevant engineering degree with hands-on project experience.
• Experience with mechanical or electro-mechanical systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and run studies to characterize and evaluate printer performance.
• Design and build test setups to evaluate subsystem reliability.
• Debug and diagnose electro-mechanical issues; collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Firmware teams to implement fixes.
• Write Python scripts and tools to support reliability and characterization studies.
