National Grid in Syracuse seeks a Drafting Technician B-Structural to perform drafting and elementary detailing for construction projects. You will assist in creating and maintaining 3D CAD models of substation equipment and develop simple drawings from compiled information.

The role requires basic drafting proficiency, ability to interpret drawings, and good teamwork. AAS in related field and valid driver’s license are expected, with potential progression to Technician C after 1–2 years.

Qualifications

• AAS Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering Technology or equivalent recognized by management.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, or equivalent.

Responsabilités

• Prepare finished drawings including diagrams, maps and records prepared by others.
• Assist in creation and maintenance of 3D CAD models of substation equipment.
• Develop simple drawings, parts of drawings and details from complete information.
• Assist in updating substation design standards and drafting procedures.
