Job summary

The Wenatchee School District invites applications for a Special Education Para at Lewis & Clark Elementary. The role supports the Special Education instructor, helping to foster a positive learning environment and provide essential services to students.

The position may involve one-on-one or resource room support, with building locations subject to change based on student needs. Open until filled; represented by the Public School Employees of Washington.

Qualifications

  • Prefer bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.
  • Capable of lifting and prolonged sitting/standing as needed.

Salary

: $21.87 - $24.41 per hour

DESCRIPTION:

Assist the Special Education instructor in creating a positive learning environment to facilitate the personal, social and intellectual development of students. Provide educational services to students in the special education program. This position may require one-on-one or resource room support. Other related duties as assigned. ** Building locations subject to change based on student support needs. **

QUALIFICATIONS:

MinimumAA degree or equivalent or passed PRAXIS test required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required. Ability to make good decisions.Patient, flexible, self-motivated, good communication, teamwork, academic skills and positive social skills and a sense of humor. Ability to relate well to students, parents and staff. May require lifting, prolonged sitting or standing. Attendance and punctuality are important functions of this position.

  • 180 - 219 Day Employees - Paid leave benefits include 10 days of sick leave, 2 personal leave days and 11 holidays.
  • 220 - 259 Day Employees - Paid leave benefits include 10 days of sick leave, 3 personal leave days and 11 holidays.
  • 260 Day Employees - Paid leave benefits include 12 days of sick leave, 2 personal leave days, 14 holidays and 12 vacation days.
  • Tuition reimbursement, 50% up to $450 per year for qualified expenses.
