Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouth is seeking an ED support technician to help prepare the emergency department for patient care. You will clean, stock, transport patients, and assist in clinical tasks such as EKGs, wound care, and specimen collection under supervision.

The role requires a CNA/EMT/Medical Assistant credential or nursing clinical rotations, or 2 years of ED Tech experience; flu vaccination is expected. This is a part-time, evening position with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current CNA license, EMT license, or be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Alternative: current enrollment in a nursing program with at least 1 year of clinical rotations or minimum 2 years of ED Tech experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean, stock, and ready the ED for patient care.
• Transport patients within the department and to in-hospital locations as needed.
• Perform clinical tasks such as EKGs, wound care setup, and specimen collection.
• Assist ED physicians and nursing staff by applying splints, molds, and immobilizers as ordered.
• Carry out lab draws and basic testing as required.
• Follow sterile technique and safety protocols; adhere to rotating weekend/holiday schedules.
