Job summary

Actalent is seeking a PCB Design Engineer to design and develop complex multi-layer PCBs for aerospace and defense programs. The role requires layout with Mentor Graphics tools, component placement, routing, stack-up definition, and rigorous documentation.

Collaborate across electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams to meet high-reliability requirements and IPC guidelines. Onsite in Fort Worth, Texas, with eligibility for secret clearance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional PCB design and layout experience.
• Expert-level experience with Mentor Graphics tools.
• Proven experience designing complex multi-layer PCBs (30+ layers).
• Strong understanding of PCB fabrication, assembly, and design best practices.
• Experience in Aerospace & Defense, Military, Avionics, or related industries.
• Familiarity with IPC standards and industry design guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex multi-layer PCBs for aerospace and defense applications.
• Create PCB layouts using Mentor Graphics and Allegro design tools.
• Perform component placement, routing, stack-up definition, and design documentation.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineers.
• Ensure designs meet electrical, mechanical, thermal, environmental, and manufacturability requirements.
• Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT).
• Troubleshoot PCB design issues and support prototype builds and validation activities.
• Ensure compliance with IPC standards and aerospace/defense design guidelines.
• Develop and maintain PCB documentation and release packages.
