Job summary

Castelion is seeking a PCB Layout Engineer to own the layout and release of complex avionics PCBs for hypersonic missile systems, collaborating with electrical, mechanical, systems, and manufacturing engineers to meet aggressive schedules.

You will drive placement, routing, and stack‑up decisions across analog, digital, RF, and power, lead DFM/DFA reviews with vendors, ensure IPC 3/3A compliance, and mentor junior designers while pushing design standards.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of PCB layout and electronics hardware development experience.
• Strong understanding of signal integrity, power distribution, grounding, EMI/EMC, and thermal considerations.
• Experience designing to IPC Class 3/3A requirements.
• Experience with high-density, multi-layer PCBs (10–20+ layers).
• Experience working with PCB fabrication vendors and assembly houses.

Responsibilities

• Own PCB layout from initial placement through fabrication and assembly release.
• Translate schematic intent into manufacturable PCB layouts.
• Drive component placement, stack‑up, routing strategy across domains.
• Lead PCB DFM/DFA reviews with fabrication vendors and resolve issues.
• Develop and maintain fabrication/assembly packages (Gerber/ODB++, BOMs, drawings).
• Interface with board houses to select materials, impedance targets, and DFX rules.
• Mentor junior designers and review peer layouts.
• Ensure designs meet Castelion standards and regulatory requirements.
