Job summary

The High Companies is seeking an experienced Fitter/Fabricator to join the 2nd shift at High Steel Structures. The role entails fitting, layout, welding, finishing, and grinding to assemble structural steel units, including bridges and building products.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and welding experience (Stick, MIG, Submerged Arc). Certification tests must be passable; D1.1/D1.5 experience is preferred with training offered for D1.5 via High Steel University.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; welding/fabrication coursework preferred.
• Demonstrated welding experience with Stick, MIG, or Submerged Arc.
• Ability to work from prints, specifications, and with layout/measuring tools.
• Must be able to pass the required welding certification test.

Responsibilities

• Perform fitting, layout, welding, finishing, grinding to fabricate structural steel units (bridges, buildings).
• Read and interpret prints and specification tables to guide fabrication.
• Operate on 2nd shift with occasional overtime based on business demand.
