Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands, Inc. is seeking a 2nd shift welder/fitter to coordinate welding settings and ensure bead quality at our Monticello, IA facility. You will read blueprints, follow safety rules, and perform precision welding while maintaining production targets.

The role requires an associate degree or welding experience, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and familiarity with forklift and overhead crane operations. Teamwork and strong math skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school or welding experience.
• Read blueprints and drawings.
• Read and comprehend documents including safety rules and operating instructions.
• Communicate information effectively one-on-one and in groups.
• Perform basic mathematic calculations.
• Use power hand tools and operate a forklift.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Understand safety rules for manufacturing environments.
• Coordinate welder settings, gun speed/travel and gas flow to bead condition.
• Read a tape measure and blueprints to shop standards.
• Decide adjustments for gun/manipulation and repairs for defects.
• Train welding procedures per manufacturing procedures.
• Operate overhead crane and lifting equipment.
• Maintain bead shapes, sizes and penetrations to specified quality.
