Job summary

Herr Foods Inc. in Nottingham, PA is seeking a 2nd Shift Wastewater Treatment Operator to operate and maintain the facility's wastewater treatment equipment during the 12:30pm–9:30pm shift. This is a full-time position in the Maintenance department.

The role involves monitoring control panels, performing water tests, maintaining logs, and ensuring safe operation of pumps, centrifuges, blowers and chemical feeds, with a focus on quality effluent and compliance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operation, maintenance and cleaning of all equipment necessary to cleanse processing wastewater.
• Mixing chemicals.
• Keep accurate entries on daily log sheets.
• Perform simple water tests.
• Monitors control panels and adjusts valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate flow of waste.
• Starts and stops pumps, engines, and generators to control flow of raw sewage through filtering, settling, aeration, and sludge digestion processes.
• Maintains log of operations and records meter and gauge readings.
• Drive waste trucks to the Herr Angus Farm.
• Follow all safety guidelines as described in the safety code of conduct and attend safety meetings.
