Herr Foods Inc. is seeking a 2nd Shift Wastewater Treatment Operator to join the Nottingham, PA team in the Maintenance department. The role involves operating, maintaining and cleaning wastewater treatment equipment and ensuring safe, compliant plant operations.

The position is full-time with benefits and a schedule Monday through Friday, 12:30pm to 9:30pm, offering opportunities to contribute to on-site health and wellness programs and to participate in a company with a strong benefits package.

• SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday
• SHIFT: 12:30pm-9:30pm

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following - Other duties may be assigned:

• Operation, maintenance and cleaning of all equipment necessary to cleanse processing wastewater. This equipment includes, but is not limited to:
  • Centrifugal and progressive cavity pumps
  • Centrifuges
  • Starch recovery system
  • Blowers
  • Biological treatment systems
  • Chemical feed systems
  • Storage lagoons
• Mixing chemicals.
• Keep accurate entries on daily log sheets.
• Perform simple water tests.
• Monitors control panels and adjusts valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate flow of waste.
• Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings and tests results to determine load requirements.
• Starts and stops pumps, engines, and generators to control flow of raw sewage through filtering, settling, aeration, and sludge digestion processes.
• Maintains log of operations and records meter and gauge readings.
• Drive waste trucks to the Herr Angus Farm.
• Follow all safety guidelines as described in the safety code of conduct. Attend and participate in all safety meetings and be committed to working safety.
