Job summary

SSAB Americas is seeking a Warehouseperson to ensure a smooth flow of material through the facility, handling shipping, receiving and storage with emphasis on accuracy and safety.

Responsibilities include unloading, storing, locating raw materials, processing orders from stock, loading to trucks or rail cars, and performing daily forklift and crane inspections in line with SSAB ISO programs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Willingness to work in a physically demanding role.

Responsibilities

• Unloads, stores and places raw material for processing. Verifies that the material is correct as ordered, follows practices and procedures as outlines in SSAB’s ISO programs.
• Off-loads material from the production line, places material into staging areas. Fills customer orders from stock, ensures material is properly identified and verifies quality as per ASTM or customer specifications.
• Loads material off/onto trucks or rail cars, verifies material is correct as stated on customer’s BOL/order
• Secure material loaded on railcars
• Responsible for daily fork truck and crane inspections
• Follows all safety rules and regulations
• Train to operate cut-to-length line machines and equipment
• Train to operate acetylene/plasma cutting beds
• Train to operate acetylene track torches
• Assist maintenance
