Job summary

Midwest Food Services is seeking a hands-on 2nd Shift Warehouse Lead in Illinois. You will direct associates, coordinate picking, loading and put-away, and ensure safety and efficiency on the floor in a fast-paced environment with cooler/freezer operations.

The ideal candidate shows leadership, reliability, and the ability to solve problems under pressure, while maintaining accurate inventory control and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of warehouse experience, with lead or supervisory exposure.
• Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Word & Excel.
• Experience with ERP/inventory systems preferred.
• Strong communication and team leadership skills.
• Bilingual in Chinese or Spanish and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise warehouse associates on 2nd shift to meet goals.
• Oversee picking, loading, put-away, and coordinate tasks to move freight.
• Monitor productivity and address issues in real time.
• Train, coach, and onboard new associates on safety and equipment.
• Enforce safety and GMP standards; conduct safety walks.
• Ensure accurate inventory handling and ERP system scanning.
• Maintain safe, clean warehouse and staging areas.
• Assist management with scheduling and attendance.
