Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a Utilities Supervisor for the 2nd shift at the St Joseph Prepared Foods Plant. You will supervise a team responsible for boilers, refrigeration, HVAC, and utility distribution, ensuring reliability and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include maintenance planning, contractor coordination, and continuous improvement of utility systems. Requires 3+ years in industrial maintenance and strong refrigeration theory knowledge; PSM experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certificate preferred.
• 3+ years in industrial maintenance, boiler/refrigeration, or related technical field.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration theory.
• Food processing or packaging experience preferred.
• Proficient in Windows-based applications; able to use email, enter data, and create basic queries; learn SAP-PM.
• Strong verbal, written, and reading communication skills.
• Ability to install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration, boilers, water treatment, pneumatics, hydraulics, and general mechanical and plumbing work.
• Fabrication and oxy-acetylene welding skills a plus.
• CMMS experience preferred.
• Supervise and lead hourly maintenance team; strong leadership, organization, accountability.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and manage plant utilities and Buildings & Grounds.
• Ensure reliability and regulatory compliance of utility systems.
• Oversee maintenance execution and contractor coordination.
• Drive continuous improvement of utility systems.
• Provide frontline supervision of mechanics & operators; set work schedules and priorities.
