Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Utilities Repair Technician on 2nd shift in Lafayette, IN. You will mechanically troubleshoot and repair complex equipment in the Large Power Systems Division, covering boilers, HVAC, pumps, hydraulics, and robotics.

The role requires strong mechanical/electrical repair skills, HVAC training, boiler operation experience, and willingness to work overtime. Benefits include a comprehensive package and relocation support if eligible.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of industrial utilities and repair experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing large-scale dynamometers is helpful.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems (compressors, valves, etc.).
• Boiler operator experience is preferred.
• Ability to read mechanical prints and perform basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Basic welding and cutting skills and using basic tools.
• ABB robots experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of utilities, test cells, HVAC, pumps, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical/electrical components on machines in assembly areas.
• Support production demands and overtime opportunities as needed.
