Job summary

The Building Center, Inc. is seeking a 2nd Shift Builder in Gastonia, NC to manufacture roof/floor trusses and wall panels on the shop floor. You will handle lumber, set jig templates, cut to shop drawings, and assemble parts to produce trusses according to specifications.

This full-time, on-site position reports to the Division Manager and requires adherence to safety standards in a loud, outdoor-indoor shop environment. GED or HS diploma required, with lifting up to 70 pounds being routine.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands during shifts.
• Regularly lift and move up to 70 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for material handling of lumber and truss plates.
• Cuts lumber per shop drawings.
• Sets jig templates and truss geometry per shop drawings.
• Assembles parts to produce trusses per shop drawings.
• Stacks and bands finished goods per order.
• Conforms to all safety requirements while working in the shop.
• Keeps the shop work area clean.
• Performs other duties, as assigned.
