Job summary

MPI Engineered Technologies in Knox, IN is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker / Machinist – T2 for the 2nd shift to construct, repair and maintain precision dies and tooling. You will read blueprints, set up Tool Room machinery, and produce parts within tight tolerances, including ±0.0001" where required.

The position requires strong safety practices, teamwork, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. A T2 Journey Card and relevant machining experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold the T2 Tool & Die Journey Card as required.
• Experience as Tool & Die Maker and/or Machinist is required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements.
• Must use precision measuring instruments and gauges accurately.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Construct, repair, modify, and maintain dies, tooling, fixtures, and gauges.
• Set up Tool Room machinery and perform equipment setups.
• Read blueprints and interpret drawings to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Operate milling, turning, grinding, drilling, and cutoff equipment.
• Maintain tolerances, including ±0.0001" when required.
• Perform preventive maintenance on Tool Room machinery and keep records.
