Job summary

The Vollrath Company in Kiel, Wisconsin is seeking an experienced welder/fabricator to perform TIG welding and general fabrication across multiple product lines. You will interpret blueprints, set up welds, and manage materials to meet production schedules.

Candidates should have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to operate welding and fabrication equipment safely. Training on-site and cross-functional teamwork are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand blueprints, sketches, measurements and instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and visual accuracy.
• Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment and hand/power tools.
• Welding experience preferred for welding-focused assignments.

Responsibilities

• Weld aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and other materials as required.
• Perform rough and finish grinding, polishing, deburring, and other metal-finishing operations.
• Fabricate, fit, cut, shape, and join components according to specifications.
• Set up and operate welding equipment, tooling, fixtures, and related machinery.
• Perform complex layouts and determine the appropriate sequence of operations.
• Work from blueprints, sketches, weld symbols, process sheets, schedules, and verbal instructions.
• Identify, modify, or develop basic tooling and fixtures as necessary.
• Maintain welding equipment and work areas in safe and efficient operating condition.
• Weld, wrap, foam, and assemble evaporator hoppers, barrels, and related components.
• Primarily perform TIG welding as required for evaporator production.
• Organize materials and components to complete assemblies within required production schedules and engineering specifications.
• Set up and operate equipment including welding, grinding, wrapping, extruding, spot welding, facing, polishing, and foaming equipment.
• Support a lean pull system from barrel welding through final foaming.
• Coordinate work and assist with scheduling activities to meet production demand.
• Identify improper fits, defects, equipment issues, and operating difficulties and take appropriate corrective action.
