Job summary

Lake Air Products is seeking a 2nd shift welder for our New Hope, MN location. If you have TIG/MIG experience and enjoy hands-on work, this role is a great fit. You will lay out parts, weld using multiple arcs, and ensure specifications are met through checks and tests.

The job requires 7+ years of TIG/MIG/Tack-weld experience, reading blueprints, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Join a team focused on quality and strong collaboration with leadership.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 7+ years of TIG, MIG, and Tack-weld experience (TIG preferred).
• Excellent people skills and ability to partner with leadership.
• Integrity and commitment to the mission.
• Ability to weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Lift objects up to 50 pounds daily.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Reading blueprints and performing all necessary measurements.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, and secure parts according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler.
• Observe tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance.
• Develops templates or tooling and other work aids to hold and align parts.
• Determines required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
• Examining finished products and spare parts and comparing them with samples to check whether the specifications are met.
• Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using measuring instruments
• welding metal, such as fusing metal segments, using gas tungsten arc, metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, and other types of welding arcs
