Job summary

Architectural Components Group, Inc. (ACGI), a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, is seeking an Initial Team Lead for Marshfield, MO. You will lead a 2nd shift manufacturing team, ensure schedules and quality standards, and mentor staff while promoting a safe work environment.

The role requires SDS/PDS literacy, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and HR to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Overtime is required.
• Must be able to read Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Product Data Sheets (PDS).
• Must be a strategist, capable of change, talent developer and strong relationship builder.
• Experience in setting and evaluating processes to determine best efficient layout.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience in managing people. Must possess excellent problem-solving skills.
• Hours of service average at least 30 hours per week.
• Dependable, punctual, good attendance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; team player and relationship builder.

Responsibilities

• Conduct shift-start huddles with staff to give daily direction and goals.
• Update Planner Board and end-of-shift totals.
• Own and sign-off on the accuracy of 1st piece and run checklists to ensure 100% quality.
• Assist with employee interviews, reviews, 30/60/90-day check-ins with new hires.
• Ensure all employees are at workstation on-time and on-task.
• Work with Engineering & Quality groups to solve floor issues.
• Work with materials & scheduling groups to manage parts issues.
• Ensure all parts leaving department are counted & verified vs drawings.
• Operate/setup machinery; read process sheets; measure with instruments.
• Maintain clean, organized work area; communicate with team and leadership.
• Coordinate with Safety, Quality, and HR to meet standards and policies.
• Understand softwood and hardwood lumber sources and specs.
