Job summary

Benchmark Electronics Inc in Rochester, MN, is seeking an assembly technician to prepare products for systems level assembly, perform subassemblies, and ensure quality. You will follow routings, verify kits, and document batch information while maintaining safe, accurate handling of components and tools.

The role requires 1+ years of SI assembly experience, strong attention to detail, good computer skills, and the ability to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in basic SI assembly (new build lines, subassembly/final assembly).

Responsibilities

• Accesses the appropriate paperwork and necessary drawings for each job assignment.
• Verifies kits, enters Batch lot information, package and label accessory items according to documented instructions.
• Uses appropriate mats and all required tooling.
• Checks equipment to ensure proper performance.
• Uses manufacturing routings and process instructions under close supervision; may assemble a variety of systems integration subassemblies.
• Notifies leadership of any shutdown situations.
• Enters data into Process Feedback System (PFS) and links subassemblies to final unit.
• Enters quantities into Operations Complete (Baan) when required.
• All employees are responsible for the quality of their work to ensure BEI meets or exceeds customer satisfaction.
• Mentor and assist lesser qualified operators.
• Build subassemblies and add labels per manufacturing instructions and schematic drawings.
• Perform systems integration hand solder and inspection operations per documented instructions.
• Perform F-cert function to ensure final units have passed through all necessary operations.
• Perform final inspection of unit for defects or fingerprints and wipe down as needed.
• Add user manuals, accessory packs, cables, labels, etc. per documented instructions.
• May assist manufacturing engineering in basic prototype and pre-production builds.
• Use manufacturing routings and process instructions under moderate supervision.
• Mentor other co-workers in assembly activities.
