Job summary

Materion is seeking a 2nd shift Production Operator to sand and grind rolled tantalum and niobium products, set up leveling equipment and shears, and assist in the rolling mills. This role requires focus on meeting Class 1 surface specifications and adherence to safety standards.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and 0–2 years in manufacturing, with basic math and measurement skills. Fork truck and overhead crane licenses may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years of production/manufacturing experience preferred.
• Basic math and measuring skills required.
• Able to read specifications and use measuring instruments with guidance.
• Fork truck and overhead crane licenses may be required or pursued.

Responsibilities

• Sands or grinds rolled materials to remove surface imperfections and meet product specifications (Class 1 focus).
• Sets up and operates leveling equipment to prepare material surfaces.
• Sets up and operates shears to ensure final dimensions meet specs.
• Assists in handling materials in the rolling mills under supervision.
• Adheres to safety PPE requirements and environmental policies.
