Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Lafayette, Indiana seeks a Supplier Quality Technician for the 2nd shift to provide assembly and machine shop quality support for suspected nonconforming material.

You will compare parts to Caterpillar prints and standards, document non-conformances, and quarantine discrepant material as needed. Responsibilities include reading prints with GD&T, performing gage-based conformance checks, and coordinating with internal teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Experience with gaging, quality, blueprint reading, and GD&T.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• React to operations line calls for problematic parts.
• Read Caterpillar prints, understand GD&T, and communicate non-conformances.
• Troubleshoot issues with parts and perform gage checks.
• Support RCCA efforts and document deviations.
