Job summary

Vonachen Group is seeking a 2nd Shift Supervisor in Des Moines, IA to maintain high customer satisfaction, ensure service levels, monitor supplies, and enforce safety protocols. The role acts as liaison between clients and managers when leadership is unavailable.

Responsibilities include supervising daily tasks, training staff, conducting safety inspections, and managing timekeeping, audits, and inventory. Full benefits, daily pay, and opportunities for advancement are offered.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Some computer skills are required.
Some experience with performing administrative tasks is required.
Management / supervisory experience required.
Experience working with union environment preferred.
CDL preferred (or to be obtained within 6 months of hire).

Responsibilities

Oversee all assigned duties/task per facility scope of work.
Encourage, redirect, correct, and document employee performance as appropriate.
Train employees into specialized areas and periodic assignments; document training.
Participate in all OSHA, Company, Customer and Site-Specific Safety Guidelines and Processes.
Prepare Confined Space Permits; initiate and confirm Lock-Out-Tag-Out of equipment.
Track all work and provide documentation as required; prepare timekeeping and End of Shift reports.
Conduct Quality Assurance audit and ensure corrective measures are implemented for all deficiencies.
Stock and maintain janitor and industrial closets, supply rooms; facilitate supply orders.
Maintain a safe work environment and immediately report any safety risks or hazards.
Monitor building security, facilitate any site-specific safety protocol.
Conduct hiring interviews as needed.
Monitor inventory and facilitate repairs to all assigned equipment and required tools.
Establish and maintain a preventive maintenance program for all assigned motorized equipment.

Job Requirements

Skills and Abilities
- Must be 18 years or older and possess a valid driver's license and clean MVR
- Must have reliable transportation
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high-level of performance
- Customer-oriented and friendly
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to attend training related to industry practices and procedures
- Works well with a diverse team
- Must be mechanically inclined and possess a strong safety orientation
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED
